In addition to supporting the pursuit of higher education, the NEF also provides grants to enhance the educational opportunities for the students in the Northmont community.
The NEF awarded 40 grants totaling $39,536 to provide various programs and opportunities for students across the district.
Several grants are directed to providing enhanced reading opportunities for our students, both advanced students as well as those students who may have challenges reading. These reading programs all place a high importance on improved reading comprehension and increasing student interest in reading.
The grants are also used to support and develop the staff at Northmont City Schools. One such grant will be used to fund a mentoring program that is essential in the development of new teachers. This program partners new teachers with teachers that have more experience.
