Scholarships

 

The NEF recently announced the 2007 scholarship recipients. Each year the NEF awards scholarships to graduating seniors. 26 students received scholarship support ranging from $500 to $3500. A total of $40,700 was awarded to graduating seniors to provide assistance in their pursuit of higher education.

Emery Worldwide, a CF Company Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded each year, preferably to a student whose parent(s) are employed by Emery Worldwide. Emery started the Northmont Education Foundation with an initial contribution of $1000.

Dan Carlisle Academic and Football Scholarship
Awarded each year to a senior who participated in the Northmont High School football program,preferably one who maintained a 3.2 GPA or higher. Dan was a Northmont student who lost his life to cancer in 1996.

Class of 1990/Class of 1998/Class of 2000 Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating senior who served as a class officer.

Coach Bill Yensel Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating senior who was a member of the varsity basketball team and is pursuing a college education or technical career. Bill Yensel was a basketball coach for the Northmont City Schools for over 20 years.

James Krueckeberg Scholarship
This scholarship was created in memory of Jim Krueckeberg, who came to Northmont City Schools in 1973 and was the principal at Northmont Middle School for 10 years.

Harry Blome, Jr. Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior based on the student's overall performance. Mr. Blome was an alumnus of the Randolph High School, Class of 1947.

Sally Murphy Scholarship
It is awarded to a graduating senior who has been involved in school activities, organizations, athletics, and community programs. Ms. Murphy is a retired Northmont teacher who spent 40 years in education.

Northmont Education Foundation Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating senior based on financial need.

Northmoor Elementary Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating senior who attended Northmoor Elementary.

Spiller Family Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior and is selected by the Spiller family.
Spiller was a former board member, teacher, and principal at O.R. Edgington Elementary School.

Richard Whistler Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating senior who hopes to become an educator or who is active in the Northmont music or drama programs. Mr. Whistler was the superintendent of the Northmont City Schools for 17 years.

Yoakum Family Scholarships
Both scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors. A scholarship is awarded to a Northmont Senior from the Miami Valley Career Technology Center pursuing a technical career, and a scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who is pursuing a four year college education.

Tom Walker, Sr. NJROTC Scholarship
Awarded to a college bound student who is a member of the ROTC program. Recipient should have a 3.0 GPA and demonstrate the following qualities: determination, ambition, motivated, and a hard worker.

Jennifer Webb Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded in the memory of Jennifer, a Northmont High School graduate and an Ohio University graduate, who lost her life in a car accident.
Sharon Walker Scholarship Student should have a 3.0 GPA and be involved in school and community activities.

Richard Dill & Family Scholarship
Awarded to a student who will pursue a degree in education or a health related field.
Northmont Soccer Scholarship awarded to graduating seniors who participated in the sport.
